Into the Light invites viewers into an exploration of contrast, emotion, and transformation. Through bold color and shifting form, the exhibition traces a passage from unrest toward quiet clarity and illumination.

Working primarily in acrylic, with touches of watercolor, charcoal, and mixed media, Vincent Musto uses each material to reflect changes in mood—some pieces introspective and shadowed, others spontaneous and radiant. The interplay of light and dark—chiaroscuro—serves as both visual technique and emotional thread.

This exhibition is an invitation to move through shadow and step into possibility.

Vincent Musto is a self-taught painter with more than thirty years of artistic exploration and dedication to his craft. Raised in a hard-working Italian family, he was instilled early on with the values of perseverance, discipline, and respect for meaningful work—principles that continue to guide both his life and his art.

​

After a rewarding career as an educator at the high school and college levels, Musto returned to painting with renewed focus, embracing abstraction as his personal and intuitive language. His work reflects a dynamic range of emotion and contemplation, inviting viewers to engage with layers of feeling, memory, and interpretation.

​

He gratefully acknowledges his wife for her constant inspiration and unwavering support, which sustain and influence his creative practice. He also extends heartfelt thanks to his art class at the Kingston AAC—whose enthusiasm and camaraderie make the artistic journey all the more enjoyable.
