Join us on Friday, May 8th from 5PM-7PM for the opening reception of This is Me -The Pottery of Paul DeLuca.

This show will display in our Lombardo Gallery from May 8th - June 5th.

the artist.

Paul DeLuca holds a degree in art education and has pursued graduate studies in painting and fine art photography.

Prior to establishing one of the leading advertising agencies in Northeast Pennsylvania, Paul DeLuca taught in both the United States and Norway. While the rewards of advertising are undoubtedly satisfying, the most gratifying recognition came when the agency was honored as the small business philanthropist of the year in the state of Pennsylvania.

Currently, Paul DeLuca owns and operates Bank Street Pottery, a small pottery studio located in Dalton, Pennsylvania. The studio has been in operation for over 25 years and has successfully sold its products throughout the United States and Europe. Notably, the Prime Minister of Iceland has acquired some of Paul DeLuca’s work.

Unlike production pottery, Paul DeLuca’s creations are unique in nature. Each piece requires skill, patience, observation, and creativity.

“My mugs are works of art that can be held in one’s hand and utilized daily,” he asserts.

Paul DeLuca’s objective is to ensure that every piece is authentic to its form. No two pieces will ever be identical. Nothing produced at Bank Street Pottery will be flawless (perfection is unattainable). The colors and marks on the clay, both internal and external, serve as the narrative of its creation.

Paul DeLuca’s work is a reflection of his inner thoughts at the moment of creation.

In essence, clay is the earth, shaped and fired.
