Join us on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5PM-7PM at Art e Fekts Gallery for the opening reception of"Out Under the Sky", a solo exhibition by watercolor artist Frank Wengen. A Northeastern Pennsylvania native, Wengen has been painting in watercolor for nearly five decades, capturing the quiet beauty and timeless spirit of the landscapes that surround him. His works reflect both a deep connection to the natural world and an enduring appreciation for the play of light, atmosphere, and mood found across the rolling hills and river valleys of our region—and beyond.
This show will hang in our Lombardo Gallery from November 21st - December 19th.

Frank Wengen, a Northeastern Pennsylvania native, has been painting watercolors for nearly 50 years. A 1973 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, he was awarded the American Watercolor Society Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding achievement in watercolor during his senior year.
By the early 1980s, Wengen had presented multiple solo exhibitions and sold his work extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Over the decades, he has received numerous awards from international, national, and regional juried exhibitions. Most recently, he earned the Baltimore Watercolor Society Historic Figure Tribute Award for Gordon Grant for his piece “Going Out, Coming In” in the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition.
Wengen is a member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Baltimore Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and American Watercolor Society, continuing to share his lifelong dedication to the art of watercolor.
